Sona graduated in Bachelor of Dental Surgery in 1992. In 2005, he obtained a postgraduate qualification MFGDP (UK). The Membership of the Faculty of General Dental Practitioner from England. In the same year, he also obtained the MFDS RCS. The Membership of the Faculty of Dental Surgeons- Royal College of Surgeons and Physicians of Glasgow.

Before coming to Sydney Australia in 2006, he and his wife had successful dental practice in Kathmandu, Nepal from 1994 to 2005. He landed his first job in Australia with Queensland Health, Townsville. Sona was also a tutor with Westmead Dental Hospital (Sydney University) and the University of Queensland.

He has also completed an implant course with Brener Implant Institute (Bii) in Sydney, which is a leader in dental implant, bone grafting and prosthetic education. In Sydney, he also worked with HCF Dental for 8 years before opening his own successful practice at Kings Langley. Dr Chengappa co-owns two dental centres with his wife Dr Shagun Chengappa, located here in Richmond and at Kings Langley.

Sona is interested in continuing education and training in order to achieve the smile and confidence that his patients deserve. He is kind and caring with excellent communication skills. He has particular interest in Cosmetic Dentistry, Restorative Dentistry, Endodontics (Root Canal Treatment) and Implants.

Sona enjoys jogging, playing tennis and hiking. He is a keen family man and enjoys spending time with his daughter & son.

With his passion for dentistry and his commitment to his patients, Sona has furthered his studies into dental implants. Thus, allowing us to provide implant services in our clinic. Dr Sona Chengappa completed his studies in 2019 with Brenner Institute Implant Program and has wasted no time after his completion of the course by carrying out multiple dental implant surgeries.
